When I “revived” my blog I stated that I will write both in English and Romanian. So this is the first blog-post in English
and it’s dedicated to a quite interesting CEE Event which evolution I’ve seen for 3 years now: Webit Expo And Conferences.
Since it’s the 3rd year I’m attending, I feel like I’m part of the family somehow and the fact that year after year I know that at the end of October I get the chance to be in Sofia, pretty much gives me a certainty and a point of reference when it comes to business networking. “Don’t worry we’ll meet at Webit in October” became quite a familiar phrase within my business contacts.
I got the chance to see Webit developing, growing and experiencing various success recipes. Last year, Plamen was saying that no more 3 days event! Fair enough, this year Webit is just 2 days but covering 8 sections! Will this be the winning formula? Hard to say now. But that raises my curiosity even more! Started as a Digital Marketing conference, in 2011 Webit covers now many other related topics – Startups, Developers, Gaming, Creativity, Seminars, Expo and Masterclasses! Pretty much gathering most of the online industry professionals and specialists from all over CEE and neighboring countries. And that gives it real valuable networking opportunities. And from my point of view – it’s without doubt the greatest advantage and benefit of Webit, without underestimating the others though!
Thumbs up for the organizers for bringing Creativity also in the spotlight! And Gaming. Nevertheless, it is an event that has to show, enhance and keep-up with the western digital trends! Hope I’ll get the chance and opportunity to throw a look over there!
As from my part, looking forward to this year’s Agenda, especially to attend Marc Bresseel’s (Microsoft Advertising) presentation on Mastering the new Digital, Sergiy Petrenko’s (Yandex) speech on How a local player competes with a giant – that’s because I see Yandex is becoming more and more present in various East-European countries – curious about “How retailers can leverage Facebook to amplify stories and generate word of mouth marketing at scale” story told by Rick Kelley from Facebook, what will Guillaume Bacuvier (Google) has to say on “How can businesses take advantage of the major trends in the mobile ecosystem and user behaviour“, looking forward to Russ Lidstone’s (Euro RSCG London) presentation on “Brand as a verb – communications in action” ( especially since I’ve seen him at Interact Barcelona as well), keen on finding out the “value of a fan” shared by Mat Morisson ( Starcom Mediavest) and the “International publisher trends” shown by Mitchael Sturm (Adtech) – I’ve met the guys from Adtech in Oslo last year…and I’m impressed they came to Eastern Europe.
The countdown on the website lets me know there are 6 days left…yes! In 6 days I’ll be in Sofia armed with my business cards and a full agenda of meetings and business talks. More details and last minute registration on the website!
I just hope I’ll get the chance, if not to do live-blogging, at least write a follow up post! Most likely I won’t…but I can hope
See you in Sofia!
